Yu Ji’s practice employs sculpture, video, print and performance to investigate the relationship between the human body and its surrounding environments. Sensitively responding to the geographical and historical specificities of place, Yu Ji frequently conducts fieldwork to observe the materiality, form and psychic resonances of a site. These finely considered elements are incorporated into her stand-alone works and the creation of immersive ‘landscapes’ inside the gallery and other spaces.
