Tao Hui works across various mediums including graphic arts, painting, video, objects, and installation. Drawing from personal memories, visual experiences, Chinese tradition and popular culture, Tao Hui creates experimental narrations which focus on our collective experience. By questioning the tenets of globalisation, virtual relationships, and hegemonic thinking, Tao Hui prompts the audience to face their own cultural histories and values.
Tao Hui trained at the Sichuan Fine Arts Institute and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in oil painting in 2010. He has presented solo exhibitions at OCAT Xi’an (2017); and UCCA, Beijing (2015).
